Cherry Boxes
Cherry boxes with veneered tops. I had a thick plank of cherry sitting around in my shop for a couple of years so I decided to make some boxes with it. I managed to get enough stock for five boxes out of it. The boxes have a mitred pine liner which lifts the box top a bit and the top panels are veneered. The dark veneer is quilted makore, the lighter burl is maple and the darker burl is white oak. In total there were 80 pieces for these boxes, I expected at some point to mix up parts so I always made sure to mill extra stock. Somehow I managed to keep everything in order and didn't mix anything up. These boxes were completed in December 2017.
