Offset Shelf
This is an offset shelf with marquetry drawer fronts. I've always liked the form of a step tansu; the size of this piece didn't allow me to continue the
steps, but one step is a good starting point. I added some marquetry to the drawer fronts, the hibiscus flowers were inpired by the hibiscus flowers
I grew on my deck that Summer. They are so impressive, but only last a day or two. I wanted to capture them in a form where they would last longer.
I built this in 2021.
